Another image for the Old Town Alexandria Project

I won't bore you today. Just another image for my new project. All of these test shots were taken on the same day and now I am just trying to decide if I should keep at it or not.

New Project? I'm still undecided

I have been toying around with the idea of photographing my hometown more. I am sure many of you have the same problem I do when setting out to photographer where you live, it's hard to get motivated to photograph what you see every day. For me personally I will watch a shot I want to take day in and day out and watch how the light changes through out the day or the year. There are many local shots I just assume one day I will get around to taking. There is one image that I have been meaning to take for about 5 years now on my way to work, the light and conditions are only perfect for a few weeks each year, but I never seem to pull over on the side of the road and take it.

Moving back on to the topic I have been thinking about forcing myself to get out and photograoh where I live so I have the idea that I would take panos of the majority of the city blocks in Old Town Alexandria. The row houses are colorful and have lots of character. I figure this will be a long term project that I can work on when not working on other projects. I have already taken allot of test shots and I am still playing around with film and techniques (I may eve shot in color).

Here is my first post. This image was taken with and Ansco Pix Panorama camera. It is a cheap plastic toy camera. It claims to be a panorama camera, but it is really just a 35mm camera with a mask the cuts the normal frame in half to make the resulting image seem like a pano. The camera has no controls, you basically just load film and fire. As with all toy cameras if you know how to use them you can get some fun results. This image is 7 images layered to create a composite. The image was also toned and a filter was added using the Photoshop plug-in Silver EFEX Pro.
